Julie Simser is a Licensed Acupuncturist. She received a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Carleton in Ottawa, Canada. Julie completed a Master’s Degree of Science in Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, New York. She completed clinical internships at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, The Initiative for Women with Joint Diseases, St Vincent’s Hospital and Fortune Society, all in New York City.Upon graduating in 2005, Julie had the opportunity to travel to Beijing, China five times to study with Dr. Wang Ju Yi, a Master Practitioner with over 50 years of clinical and hospital experience.Her post graduate studies include a two year Chinese Herbal Certification from Tri-State College (NY, NY) and a one year Acupuncture Sports Medicine Certification. Julie also works with ‘Acupuncturists without Borders’ where she has received training in Healing Community Trauma. As well, Julie has trained in Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis.She maintains a successful practice in Fair Haven, NJ and New York City. Julie uses the ancient tools of acupuncture and Chinese herbs to effectively treat a wide range of modern health issues. Chinese Medicine believes that health is achieved when one is able to find harmony in our daily lives. When working with her patients Julie helps them to find balance between work and play, exercise and rest; choice of diet and expression of emotions; through an integrated treatment incorporating acupuncture, herbal recommendations and lifestyle management.In addition to acupuncture, Julie has taught Ashtanga Yoga to students both in Canada and New Jersey. She did her teacher training with David Swenson. Her passion for yoga began nearly 25 years ago. After her first yoga class, she was hooked and has been practicing yoga ever since.
