Thyroid disease, particularly hypothyroidism, is common in women, but most symptoms of A thyroid problem occur frequently even in women with normal thyroid function. How can a doctor tell if I have hypothyroidism? If I take medicine for hypothyroidism, how can a doctor know if I’m on the right dose? What about all the things I read on the Internet?
Objectives:
- The learner will be able to describe the normal function of the thyroid hormone system.
- The learner will be able to explain controversies in the diagnosis of thyroid disease.
- The learner will be able to identify the different options for the treatment of thyroid disease.
