EvenFlow Yoga: Serving the Community and Promoting Wellness for Over Two Decades

January 2025

By Christian Valeriani, Owner and Founder, EvenFlow Yoga

In 2005, after many profound “ah-ha” life moments, Christian Valeriani conceived EvenFlow Yoga. Since the initial founding, Christian has taught over 30,000 hours of yoga and certified over 150 teachers, making EvenFlow a cornerstone of the Jersey Shore yoga community. Additionally during this time, Christian initiated and spearheaded the Local Mala Project, part of the larger Global Mala project, and New Jersey’s largest charitable yoga event, drawing hundreds of practitioners for a day of sun salutations and giving back to the community. More recently, Valeriani conceptualized and launched The Wisemen Project, a men’s wellness company rooted in traditional practices such as yoga, meditation and breathwork. Yet his most important achievement to date, is his role as a dedicated husband and a loving, grateful father to his seven year-old daughter, Luca Skye.

Christian’s road to business ownership was not always a linear one. Immediately after graduating college(and spending countless hours and dollars on Grateful Dead shows), Christian worked in finance for seven years, as a commissions-based broker. Driven by ego and fueled by the party lifestyle that accompanied his job, Christian hit bottom and became sober in 2002. Three months into sobriety, Christian was introduced to yoga, a tool he used and continues to use for equanimity and sanity in his daily living.

Whether serving clients in the boardroom or instructing hundreds of practitioners, Christian has always maintained an attitude of service, a critical principle arising from his decades old 12-step experience. He believes that it is the responsibility of every individual to freely serve others, and that health and wellness depend on and stem from community and human interaction.

A heart attack survivor and self proclaimed “skinny fat guy,” Christian advocates for a holistic approach to wellness, promoting daily regimens that can minimize acute, traumatic health events. Christian is also passionate about men’s mental health, a growing issue that plagues so many, yet is still stigmatized as weakness. Christian also sheds light on how destructive lifestyles, high stress levels and lack of movement, can play a vital role in the deterioration of overall health.

This year, Christian and EvenFlow are once again partnering with WEforum for the Fit Crawl 2025: 10 Years Strong on Saturday, February 1st. Due to their aligning missions and goals, it was a natural fit for EvenFlow to offer their time and energy to assist in WEforum’s objective of creating an educated, health-conscious community. Over the years, Christian has been humbled by the efforts of Carolyn and her team, and is grateful to have been given the opportunity to join WEforum in the Fit Crawl for the last ten years. Christian prays that in some way, every individual, can contribute to the happiness and success of all living beings; such is our birthright. EvenFlow would like to thank WEforum for the opportunity to live out this intention.

Christian Valeriani is the owner of EvenFlow Yoga in Fair Haven, NJ. In 2002, Christian experienced a significant life shift through which he was introduced to the practice. Three years later, he hung up his corporate hat to serve others by way of teaching yoga. Since then, Christian has taught over 15,000 hours of yoga, is a highly sought after workshop presenter, and directs a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training Program. Christian remains the perpetual student and infuses his teaching with a rare balance of charisma and humility. Christian lives at the Jersey Shore with his beautiful yogini wife, Dana, their baby yogini, Luca Skye and 115 pound Ridgeback lapdog, Vedder. Part of his daily routine is loving his family and friends from the deepest space, a lesson inherited from his family of origin; two dedicated parents and his two older sisters. Teaching continues to be a gift in Christian’s life and, moreover, he is humbled by receiving the ultimate gift; lessons offered from his students who continually show up. Christian prostrates himself to the teachings of God, Nature, Swami Sivananda, Sri Dharma Mittra, Rodney Yee, Jason Crandell, and Bill W.
