When Girls Gone Gritty was conceptualized, it came to a point that I realized I need connection and purpose in life. And I also realized that I am not alone. Life is complicated. Yet it can be easy other times. All human beings all yearn for a sense of purpose, and it is our connections that make our days meaningful.
As a co host of a new podcast, I also realized that hard conversations have stopped happening. We are operating in a place where soft conversations and consistently trying to not offend anyone, are on one end of the spectrum and on the other end is that our conversations get so heated that people shut down. For me it is worsened by the reality that our children – and really all of us are adversely being influenced, separated and isolated. Many conversations of today lack depth and decisiveness, and mutual respect has been lost. Whether this is a post-covid effect, social media influence, political bad behaviors or the progression of helicopter and bulldozer parenting, along with my co-hosts Farley Boyle and Darian Boyle, felt it could no longer be ignored. Our passion to change the narrative and shift the needle in the world is the driving force behind the inception of our podcast Girls Gone Gritty that started leap year, February 29th, 2024.
Over the past year, we “3Gs” have embarked on a mission to engage in authentic conversations about real and thought-provoking topics. With diverse backgrounds in fashion, marketing, entrepreneurship, and sports, coupled with the shared experience of being mothers to eight children collectively, we have set out to create a platform and a space that encourages open dialogue on controversial and uncomfortable subjects. “We created GGG out of a true need for thought provoking conversations about relevant topics that were no longer being discussed out loud,” commented Farely Boyle when asked about the beginning of the podcast.
Each week in a talk show style format, the 3G’s identify a Top Three where the goal is to shed light on news stories that may not be in the mainstream. These spotlight stories offer a fresh perspective on how global events impact us in everyday life in personal, social, economic, political, and environmental ways. Each Thursday, the co hosts then dive into a topic that strives to spark meaningful conversations that can help power and drive positive change. From technology to parenting, sports to surrogacy, we firmly believe that education is empowerment, and the most profound learning often stems from our interactions with one another. We believe that podcasts are really mini chapters in our modern-day books. Each episode has personality, with varying themes and plots to consider.
Additionally Girls Gone Gritty sees music as contemporary poetry. Each week, a song lyric is selected, serving as a source of inspiration and reflection on the artistry and significance that music can have in our lives. We highlight the words that matter, and that sometimes we aren’t completely listening to the complexity of song. We love that music can transport you to another place or time in your life, affect the mood of your day or be with you through good times and bad.
To conclude each episode, the Got Grit Award honors individuals or entities that embody resilience, fortitude, and understanding. From global leaders to local heroes, we individually choose and celebrate those who exemplify the qualities of grit and gratitude, showcasing how each of us can contribute to a more resilient and compassionate world. I believe there is so much good being done in the world, and our Got Grit winner embodies our real, everyday heroes.
Our ultimate goal is to educate, demystify, inspire, empower and embolden the listeners by sharing unfiltered experiences across a wide spectrum of topics that shape who we are. We believe that these core principles align with a growth mindset. We want the listener to know that first and foremost our journey will lead to better and increased self awareness, confidence and resilience. We want our podcast to encourage each of us to open up and share thoughts and experiences to enhance our relationships.
Our podcast believes that conversations create a change agent and a positive impact in the world – one word with one listener at a time. The hosts also believe that it is important for us to overcome our own fears by putting ourselves “out there” so that fearlessness and leadership continues to grow as a guiding principle. We are an extension of your closest friends going deep into all things that truly matter.
We hope we can inspire you to join us and invite a friend to listen to us on Girls Gone Gritty as we navigate the complexities of our ever-evolving world, one conversation at a time. We are on all listening platforms including Spotify, Apple, iHeart Radio as well as You Tube and on our website.
