Happy 2025! Lunch Break’s mission – to freely provide food, clothing, life skills, and fellowship – reminds us that community isn’t just about location; it’s about compassion, support, and believing in each other’s potential. Let’s kick off 2025 with open hearts, helping hands, and the belief that we can create meaningful change together!
In 2024, Lunch Break saw a 38% increase at the Community Kitchen, serving 119,866 meals (through November). Located in their newly renovated and expanded building at 121 Drs James Parker Blvd. in Red Bank, Lunch Break operates Monday through Saturday, providing the community with essential services.
Gwendolyn Love, Lunch Break’s Executive Director, expressed her thoughts on their beautiful new location, “This is not just a building – it’s a place where dignity, compassion, and community come together.” To keep up with the rising need for services, Lunch Break hosts community events to raise funds and awareness throughout the community.
- Love is in the air this February, and what better way to celebrate than with a romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner? On February 11, the Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Adam Smith, will prepare a haute cuisine multi-course meal paired with curated wines to celebrate this special day. A NJ Symphony trio will complete the evening’s romantic ambiance with dreamy background music.
- Sports enthusiasts, get ready to swing into action! Lunch Break’s Golf Experience and Tournament is on March 12 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at The Dome/Jackson Top Tracer Golf Experience. Whether you’re a pro or just looking to have fun, this fundraiser promises a great evening of friendly competition!
- Community youth take action at the annual Night without a Bed fundraiser on March 28 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM at the Fort Athletic Club in Oceanport. This is an overnight event in collaboration with Family Promise of Monmouth County. It’s a powerful way to raise awareness about homelessness and support those in need.
These events are more than just activities – they’re opportunities to connect, have fun, and make a difference in our community while supporting Lunch Break’s mission.
