Event Tickets Available Here!

In response to the evolving challenges faced by today’s youth, WEforum Group, the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS), and Biotechnology High School are set to host a community conversation event, tackling the complexities of youth mental health struggles. This insightful and transformative VIRTUAL event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25th. All registrants will be emailed a link to join the virtual event the day before the event.

The event agenda is as follows:

  • Program: 7:00-8:00 pm
  • Q&A: 8:00-8:30 pm

The conversation will be moderated by Kalisha Smith, LCSW, clinical director of the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS). The distinguished panel of experts includes Susan Tellone, clinical advisor of SPTS; Stacy Brief, LMSW, suicide prevention program manager of SPTS, and Christine and Bob Moore, parent voice.

“We believe that breaking the silence is the first step towards building a community that thrives on mental well-being,” stated Carolyn DeSena, founder of WEforum Group and MMC Trustee. “By openly discussing these issues, we hope to shatter the stigma surrounding youth mental health.”

The event aims to create an open and safe environment for parents, caregivers, and community members to come together, share experiences, and gain valuable knowledge to support the younger generation in facing the challenges of today’s world.

“We want to provide attendees with a candid look into personal experiences and valuable insights from our panel of experts,” added Susan Tellone. “This conversation will delve into recognizing subtle signs preceding mental health crises, offering a unique perspective on what the panelists wish they had known earlier.”

Partners for the event include the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, WEforum Group, Biotechnology High School, Communications High School, and High Technology High School. Students will receive 2 hours of community service for attending the program.

Don’t miss this transformative discussion that aims to strengthen the bonds within families and the community, fostering a resilient mindset and proactive intervention in youth mental health challenges. Let’s break the silence, shatter the stigma, and build a community that prioritizes and thrives on mental well-being!
