Why the VibeWell Yoga Festival Will Rock Your Asana

September 2019

If you’ve committed to yoga in any way, from a regular practice to a few sessions courtesy of an impulsive Groupon purchase, you’ve undoubtedly heard (or read on a tank top) that “your vibe attracts your tribe.”

But what does that mean? Who is your tribe and how can you find them?

In 2017, the NJ Yoga Collective came into existence with a goal of answering that question for every single person who has ever thought about dipping a toe into the yoga wave that flows all over NJ – and beyond. The NJYC’s founder, Bridget Riepl, spent years wishing that an all-inclusive destination existed where teachers, students and studios could connect, be inspired, support each other, discover new styles, and ultimately UNITE, bringing together thousands of people from all walks of life and every corner of our state for the same central purpose: YOGA.

She started the NJYC mostly because her family couldn’t listen to her incessant talk about the exact thing she was primed and ready to create after 15 years of practice and 7 years of local teaching experience. Within weeks of pressing “publish” on the website and offering up articles and lots of social media shares, a new question started bubbling up: “so does this mean we will have a local yoga festival?”

Bridget and her team were an immediate YES on that one. After having attended a few festivals in New York, Pennsylvannia, and Vermont, and even assisting her friend Vanessa Van Noy at Wanderlust in Vermont, Bridget knew the N.J. yoga community would absolutely soak up all the magic that a festival experience has to offer.

She had the name within days: The VibeWell Yoga Festival.

Why? Because joining a community is amazing, but not necessarily enough to bond you with your yoga tribe. The key to feeling the vibe is all about engaging.

The VibeWell Yoga Festival is an epic experience and opportunity to spend a full day in an environment that fosters love, compassion, and connection with like minded people who bring their own unique perspective to the practice. Plus it’s a fantastic chance to fully geek out on yoga.

This year’s VibeWell Yoga Festival is happening on October 27, 2019 in Asbury Park, NJ, the “city by the sea”, with a unique vibration that has consistently inspired creative collaboration, artistic evolution, empowered expression, and a non-judgmental lifestyle grounded in universal loving-kindness. Some of New Jersey’s – and the world’s – greatest teachers, speakers, healers, brands, and creators will be sprinkled throughout the Asbury Hotel, Asbury Lanes, and the Danny Clinch Gallery from 8 AM to 5 PM, ready to immerse you even deeper into our local yoga family.

And speaking of the teachers, here are the empowering human beings you’ll get to spend the day with: Robert Sturman, Jillian Pransky, Karena Virginia, Vanessa Van Noy, Ellen Mosko, Phyllicia Bonanno, Bailey Frumen, Jessica Stickler, Lockey Maisonneuve, April Puciata, Stephanie Moore, Bridget Lyons, Johnny Scifo, and Bridget herself. Maybe you’ve read their books, signed up for their immersions, followed their Instagram accounts, or swooned a little when you saw the group that traveled with them to exotic retreat locations. This is your chance to learn from the leaders in our community!

Their classes range from musically inspired jam sessions to deeply emotional releases, with workshops mixed in between, where you’ll break down poses, level up your anatomy game, and be empowered to move with greater attention, awareness, and freedom. You’ll have the chance to build your dream day, with a soul nourishing schedule that will engage your muscles, your mind, and your own capacity of making magic.

You can also turn your 2019 VibeWell Festival experience into a two-day immersion by adding on extra time with Jillian Pransky and Robert Sturman. Jillian is one of the world’s foremost experts on healing practices, as well as the author of Deep Listening: A Healing Practice to Calm Your Body, Clear Your Mind, and Open Your Heart (Rodale Books, 2017). Robert is an uncomparable photographer, known around the world for his ability to tell stories of figurative poetry and capture a generation of movement in one still shot.

Join Jillian at Inlet Yoga in Manasquan on October 26th for a 4 Hour Mini-Retreat, melding a mindful flow with maximal relational and minimal props. She’ll take your restorative practice to new heights and offer you the tools you need to bring this practice home with you.

Sign up for a photo session with Robert on October 26th or the 27th. Your time with Robert ensures that VibeWell becomes the backdrop for experiential art that will elevate your conciousness.

Ready? Let’s vibe.

With no prejudice to skill level, sex, race, age, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, income, or profession, all are welcome to come to VibeWell and join in on the excitement and activities that yoga festivals have to offer.
